Assistant Professor in Qatar University
I am Dr. Fatima Abdulla Al-Khayat; I obtained my PhD in Medical Entomology from the University of Science, Penang, Malaysia, 2018. I am an Assistant Professor in Biology and I was appointed as coordinator of undergraduate programs in the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Qatar University since 24 August 2021-Februry 12th, 2023. I was enrolled as a teaching assistant in the DBES and then went on to become an Assistant Professor in the same department. I chaired and participated in several committees at the department and collage levels. Now I am the head of the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences at Qatar University since February 13th, 2023. My research interests are in the areas of the biodiversity, insects, medical entomology and other invertebrates. As the 4th pillar of Qatar Vision 2023 focus on environment and biodiversity, therefore I supervised many under graduate students in their senior project to study the biodiversity of insects in Qatar, and I joined a research project (NPRP) about the risk assessment of native and invasive vectors of diseases and their impacts on public and animal health.
